What We Actually Do

We Source Indian Talent for Companies Hiring Them Abroad

Most recruitment agencies in India find people for companies setting up India offices. We do something different: we source Indian professionals for companies that want them to come to their location — Dubai, Singapore, Frankfurt, Sydney, Zurich.

This happens more than people realise. A Swiss infrastructure company with offices in Dubai calls their UAE HR team, who starts hiring. They want engineers who will relocate from India. A Singapore bank wants a finance team built partly from Indian professionals comfortable working on-site. A German manufacturer expanding into infrastructure needs project managers from India's engineering talent pool. In every case, the company needs a Bangalore partner who can reach the right people and, critically, tell them apart from the people who say yes to relocation and then don't move.

We know who will actually relocate

Every candidate we present for a relocation role has been through a separate conversation about the move itself — family situation, spouse employment, children's schooling, housing expectations, previous time abroad. Candidates who present well on skills but waiver on relocation are filtered before you spend interview time on them. This is the thing that prevents the most painful outcome: an accepted offer that collapses three weeks before the start date.

We benchmark to your market, not India's

A candidate relocating from Bangalore to Dubai expects Dubai-market compensation, not an India salary with a small "relocation bump." If you have offered AED 15,000 per month for a role that pays AED 22,000 in the Dubai market, we will tell you before you start — not after three failed offers. This is basic respect for your time, and it is not something all agencies will do.

We check the practical blockers upfront

Passport valid for 18+ months. Visa eligibility for the destination country. Notice period that aligns with your start date. These three things alone kill more outbound placements than poor skills matching. We check them in the first conversation, not after an offer is on the table.

We bill in your currency

Placement fees are invoiced in AED, SGD, EUR, AUD or GBP — whichever currency you operate in. This is cleaner for your accounts team and removes exchange rate exposure from the commercial relationship. Our fee is a percentage of the candidate's first-year salary in your local currency.

We have the networks to source quietly

The best candidates for relocation roles are not on Naukri posting "looking for Dubai jobs." They are employed, performing well, and open to a significant career move if the opportunity is compelling enough. Reaching them requires warm outreach through real networks, not job board spam. Nine years of Bangalore sourcing gives us the network to do this properly.

India is different from every other sourcing market

Counter-offers are common in India. Notice periods are typically 60 to 90 days, not two weeks. Candidates often have parents or family members whose situation affects the relocation decision in ways that would not apply elsewhere. Working with an agency that understands this context means fewer surprises between offer and start date.

Countries We Place Indian Talent Into

Where Our Outbound Placements Go

These are the markets where companies are actively contacting us to source Indian talent for relocation. Each has a different profile of what Indian candidates look for and what employers need to offer to close successfully.

🇦🇪 UAE — Dubai, Abu Dhabi

The highest-volume market for India-to-abroad placement. Over 3.8 million Indians already live in the UAE, which means candidates have established community networks, family context, and realistic expectations about what life there involves. Engineering, construction, finance, hospitality, technology — all active. Zero income tax remains a strong pull for mid-career professionals looking to build savings. Typical notice period: 60 days. We are currently placing for UAE-based clients across engineering, project management and finance.

🇸🇬 Singapore

Strong demand for Indian technology professionals, finance analysts, and operations managers. Employment Pass eligibility is the key variable — the salary threshold and skills requirements mean this market works best for mid-senior profiles with demonstrable specialist experience. Indian community is well-established. Time zone proximity to India (2.5 hours) makes the family conversation simpler for candidates with parents in India. Salaries are high enough that even after Singapore's cost of living, the savings proposition is real.

🇩🇪 Germany

Germany actively wants skilled Indian professionals — the Skilled Immigration Act has made it meaningfully easier for Indian engineers and IT professionals to work there. Indian engineers placing into Germany typically need relevant qualifications recognised (or to use the EU Blue Card route), which adds process time. Best for candidates with 5+ years experience and patience for a 3–4 month process. Once placed, Germans are loyal employers and retention is high. Excellent long-term destination for technically strong profiles.

🇦🇺 Australia

Strong demand particularly in engineering, infrastructure, mining, and technology. The Skilled Nominated and Employer Sponsored visa routes are what most Indian professionals use. Australia has a large established Indian community. Employer sponsorship is the critical piece — companies need to be willing to sponsor the visa, and this commitment filters for genuinely serious employers. We work with Australian companies who are already committed to sponsoring, not those exploring it in principle.

🇨🇭 Switzerland

Niche but high-value. Swiss companies hire Indian professionals for engineering, pharma, finance and infrastructure roles. Salaries are among the highest in Europe. The profile that works is typically senior (8+ years), specialist, and with a global mindset. XMS has active engagement from Swiss-headquartered companies with Middle East and regional operations looking to source from India.

🇳🇱 🇬🇧 🇨🇦 Others

Netherlands, UK and Canada also see consistent demand for Indian professionals. The UK's Skilled Worker visa route is well-understood by Indian candidates. Canada's Express Entry system is points-based and well-suited to India's engineering and IT talent. If you are a company in any country looking to source from India, contact us — we assess each engagement individually rather than refusing anything outside a fixed list.

Roles We Fill

What We Recruit for Outbound Placements

The roles vary by destination and client. These are the categories where we have active pipelines and recent placements.

Engineering & Infrastructure

Civil engineers, structural engineers, MEP engineers, project managers, site engineers and construction managers. High demand particularly from UAE and Australia. Indian engineering graduates are well-regarded internationally — the challenge is identifying those with the specific domain experience the client needs rather than just the degree.

Software & Technology

Software engineers, full-stack developers, cloud engineers, data engineers and technical leads. Singapore and Germany are active markets. India's English-fluent tech talent is one of the more straightforward propositions for international employers — the conversation is about quality screening and relocation readiness, not convincing companies that Indian engineers are good.

Finance & Accounting

Chartered accountants, FP&A analysts, finance controllers, treasury managers and CFO-level profiles. UAE and Singapore are the primary destinations. Indian CAs are internationally recognised and the designation carries weight in Gulf finance markets. Senior finance professionals who have worked with international-standard reporting and auditing are in genuine demand.

Operations & Supply Chain

Operations managers, supply chain specialists, procurement managers and logistics heads. UAE and Australia are the active markets here. Indian professionals with experience in high-volume, multi-geography operations are well-positioned for Gulf roles particularly, where the operational context is familiar.

Project Management

PMP and PRINCE2-certified project managers, programme managers and PMO leads. Active across UAE and Singapore. Indian project managers with multinational company experience and international certifications are in demand — especially in infrastructure, energy and technology sectors where the Gulf is investing heavily.

Leadership & Senior Roles

Country managers, regional heads, VP-level and C-suite searches for companies expanding into or through markets where Indian leadership talent is valuable. These engagements are typically retained and take longer, but the billing is proportionally higher. We handle the search confidentially.

The Five-Screen Process

How We Pre-Qualify Outbound Candidates

A candidate who is excellent on skills but not actually ready to relocate is worse than no candidate at all — they get to offer stage and collapse. We screen for five things before you meet anyone.

1

Skills and Experience Match

Standard competency screening against your requirements. We are not different from any other agency here — the work is in the other four screens, which most agencies skip entirely.

2

Genuine Relocation Readiness

A direct conversation about the move, not a box-tick. Spouse or partner employment situation. Children's schooling if applicable. Parents' dependency. How many times the candidate has lived abroad before. Whether they have done their own research on the destination. Candidates who have not thought seriously about the move are filtered here.

3

Practical Eligibility Check

Passport valid for at least 18 months. Any previous visa rejections for the destination country. Criminal record declarations where relevant. These are blockers that can end a placement after weeks of process — we check them first.

4

Notice Period and Start Date

Notice periods in India are typically 60 to 90 days. We confirm the actual notice period in the employment contract, not the candidate's guess, and align this to your required start date before presenting. We also check whether the current employer has a history of holding candidates to full notice.

5

Salary Expectation vs Destination Market

Candidate's expectation in your currency benchmarked against what the role actually pays in your market. If there is a gap, we address it before presentation. A candidate who expects SGD 12,000 when you are budgeting SGD 7,000 should not reach your interview stage.

Live Example

ARX Smart Minds — Swiss Infrastructure Company, UAE Offices

ARX Smart Minds (headquartered in Grono, Switzerland, 1,000+ employees, operating across five continents) approached XMS through their UAE HR team. They are hiring Indian engineers and project management professionals to work at their UAE locations. The brief: source people who have the right technical background, are genuinely committed to relocating, and will fit a company that runs complex infrastructure projects across airports, tunnels, hydropower plants and metro systems.

This is exactly the kind of engagement XMS was built for. International employer. India sourcing. Outbound placement. Billing in AED. We are working this brief now.

Commercial Terms

How We Charge for Outbound Placement

Straightforward. No hidden costs. No candidate fees — ever.

Contingency — Pay on Placement

10 to 15 percent of the candidate's first-year salary in your local currency, paid when the candidate joins. This is the standard model for mid-level roles. No upfront payment. You pay when we deliver. Replacement guarantee if the candidate leaves within a defined period — we negotiate this per engagement.

Retained — For Senior and Hard-to-Fill Roles

30 to 40 percent upfront, balance on placement. Used for VP, C-suite and specialist roles where the search requires dedicated time and the candidate pool is small. Retained searches get our full attention rather than competing with contingency briefs. We recommend this for any role where the wrong hire would cost you significantly.

Your Currency, Not Rupees

Fee invoiced in AED, SGD, EUR, AUD, GBP or USD — whichever your company operates in. This is cleaner for your procurement process and removes any currency conversion discussion from the relationship. We handle the conversion internally.

FAQ

Common Questions

Do you charge candidates anything? +
No. Candidates pay nothing. All fees are paid by the employer. This is non-negotiable and consistent with both Indian law and the laws of every destination market we work with.
How long does outbound placement typically take? +
From brief to accepted offer, typically 4 to 8 weeks for mid-level roles. Add 60 to 90 days for the notice period before the candidate joins. For senior or highly specialised profiles, add 3 to 4 weeks to the search phase. We give you a realistic timeline at the start of every engagement — not a number designed to win the business.
What happens if the candidate does not relocate after accepting? +
We include a replacement guarantee in every engagement — if the candidate does not join or leaves within an agreed period due to factors that should have been caught in screening, we replace at no additional search fee. The specific terms are agreed per engagement. Our five-screen process is designed to prevent this, but we stand behind the placement with a guarantee.
Do you handle the visa process? +
We assess visa eligibility as part of candidate screening, so you do not waste time on profiles who cannot get the relevant visa. We do not process visas — that is handled by you as the sponsoring employer or through your PRO/visa processing partner. What we do is ensure you only meet candidates where the visa pathway is straightforward and there are no known blockers.
Can you source from specific cities in India? +
Yes. Our strongest networks are in Bangalore, Hyderabad and Pune — the primary hubs for engineering and technology talent. We also source from Delhi NCR, Mumbai and Chennai. If a role requires someone already in a specific city, we can filter for that. If it is a relocation role, city of origin matters less — someone moving from Bangalore to Dubai and someone moving from Delhi to Dubai have the same transition.
