A recruiter who does not understand that a DV engineer and a design engineer are different functions — and have completely different career paths and compensation expectations — will waste your time. The market for experienced RTL, DV, and PD engineers has been competitive for years and will remain so. Salary expectations have risen sharply, particularly for candidates with 5 to 10 years of experience at recognised semiconductor companies. Companies offering below-market compensation for these profiles will struggle to close offers.
